The price of a trip includes rod , a fully rigged kayak and lunch.

Millerton Lake & San Joaquin River
Some of the best Reservoir or stillwater and river fishing to be had is here in the San Joaquin Valley. One of my personal favorites is Millerton Lake with it's Stripers [the lake record is fifty five pounds], Spotted bass and American Shad. Millerton's American Shad population is the only reproducing population in the country. During spawning time I've seen schools of America shad that were easily over a hundred fish, if not more. My home waters Millerton lake and the upper San Joaquin River that flows into it, to the river below the dam and on , has numerous hatches, from Caddisflys to mayflys such as Blue Wing Olives and even a Hexagenia Hatch, that must be seen to be believed. They provide excellent flyfishing and kayaking waters. This centrally located reservoir is probably the best unknown striper fishery going.
Eastmen Lake
Still there's more. Thirty miles from Millerton there's Eastmen Lake. Eastmen Lake is a trophy bass Lake with regulations that go it, and the possibilities of a word record swimming in it. It is Bass fishing at it's finest.
Shaver, Huntington, Whishon and Courtright Lakes
If your looking to paddle your kayak and cast your flies at Rainbow and Brown trout in the beautiful lakes of the Central Sierra Mountains, they're all just a hours drive up Highway 168.
